Alive and Well — Healing From Within

THE FILM

The burden of chronic and terminal illness affects half of people worldwide, many of whom are told that there is no hope or cure.

Alive & Well – Healing from Within is a film following individuals and families who refuse to accept that prognosis is destiny, embarking on an unconventional path of healing to reveal what it really takes to defy a diagnosis. When conventional medicine reaches its limits, they begin asking deeper questions about the body’s innate capacity to heal.

The film explores the powerful possibility of healing from even the most complex illnesses, and examines the striking shared experiences of those who have recovered from a wide range of supposedly uncurable illnesses.

WHY THIS FILM

Our medical culture excels at crisis care but often leaves people without guidance when healing requires more than a prescription.

Alive & Well – Healing from Within asks the questions that others have long left unanswered: Why do some people experience healing or remission despite “incurable” diagnoses—and what can others learn from them? What role do lifestyle, mindset, environment, nutrition, purpose, and community play in long-term outcomes? This film expands conversations across cancer, neurological disease, autoimmune conditions, and other chronic diagnoses amid growing interest in integrative, whole-person health.

Alive and Well is more than a film, it is a platform for meaningful conversation around healing and human resilience. We invite aligned partners and supporters to join us in bringing authentic stories of transformation to audiences worldwide.

THE DIRECTOR

Director and producer Elanie Welch brings both professional expertise and lived experience to this project. Her work centers on translating complex health topics into accessible, compassionate storytelling with a focus on scientific integrity.

After healing herself from years of infertility and conceiving naturally despite less than a 1% chance, Elanie knows intimately the physical, mental, and emotional work it takes to trust the body’s innate healing potential and quiet the voices that say it cannot be so. She is the creator and host of Renegade Remission, a podcast exploring healing potential across chronic and terminal illness, and has spent years working at the intersection of patient advocacy, nutrition, and integrative health education.
